Our History
The First Baptist Church of Atchison began its community of faith in 1858 before constructing the first Baptist house of worship in the territory of Kansas in 1859. The original meeting place for the congregation was a beer parlor because it was one of the few meeting places they could get. In the rough and tumble Kansas territory of the 1850s, First Baptist Church sets its roots, and it has continued serving the community of Atchison ever since.

What Drives Us
Our Mission
The purpose of First Baptist Church shall be the advancement of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. It shall seek to attain this end through the public worship of God, the preaching of the Gospel, consistent Christian living by its members, personal evangelism, missionary endeavor and Christian education.
